Balance Your Life

What is Coaching?

According to the International Coach Federation (ICF), the leading professional body for coaches globally, coaching is a partnership with clients in a thought provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

Professional coaches are trained to listen, to observe and to customize their approach to individual client needs. They seek to elicit solutions and strategies from the client; they believe the client is naturally creative and resourceful.

The coach's job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity that the client already has. Ultimately, coaches help people improve their performances and enhance the quality of their lives.

What will Coaching do for me?

Coaching develops greater self awareness. With more self awareness you can better develop clarity about your strengths and your choices, which is very empowering. Your dedication to making changes is what fuels the results. My role is to facilitate this process so you can become the person you want to be by embracing all the qualities you have to offer, many of which you may at this point be unaware.

Instead of asking what coaching will do for you, the question should really be, “What am I willing to do for myself to improve my life?” or, “What do I really want out of my life and what can I do to achieve it?” or, “What can I do to overcome the obstacles or fears that are holding me back?" While we will work through a variety of issues utilizing various tools and techniques, these are the central themes of most coaching sessions.

One of the best ways to look at our coaching sessions is similar to how you would work with a personal trainer in a gym. The only difference is that the equipment and exercises we use are located in the circles of your everyday life and not in a building. Your life experiences and my support will be the “weights” and “exercise equipment” you need for getting the results you want out of your life.

If you advance confidently in the direction of your dreams, and endeavor to live the life which you have imagined,

you will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.
