What is Health and Wellness?
Health and wellness means something different to everyone so there really is no cookie cutter definition or description. Generally speaking, health and wellness is a combination of lifestyle choices in areas such as nutrition, exercise, relationships, work/career, religion/spirituality, among other things, that provide people with the highest quality of life possible for them. Each term is explored in a bit more detail below.
The World Health Organization defines health as, “A state of optimal physical, mental and social well being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” Please understand that a balance of all three is the ideal; hence the word “optimal”. What matters most to you will be evident in the lifestyle choices you make. If you feel you are unbalanced or having difficulty in one or more of these areas and would like to explore options for making a shift, coaching will be of great benefit.
